A quick summary of my life in publishing
Editor: Knit Now Magazine
I was the editor of Knit Now Magazine, a monthly knitting title with worldwide distribution and a readership of up to 20,000 per month, for ten years. From its launch as a fledgeling title, I constantly drove improvements until, when I left Practical Publishing, it was the best-selling craft magazine in the UK.

Editorial Manager
As well as editing Knit Now, I oversaw a number of other titles in our craft portfolio. As Publisher, it was my job to make sure the titles ran on time and to budget, and exceeded the expectations of our readers. This meant I was lucky enough to line-manage some incredible editorial staff, working on up to six titles and a subscription box.

CraftWorld
CraftWorld was a craft-focused, editorial-led online membership community website. What does that mean? Basically – if you wanted to learn about or be inspired by craft, we were your go-to site. In less than two years, I grew worldwide membership to over 120,000 (including more than 1,000 paying for the premium package) with daily editorial newsletters, a monthly digital magazine and a huge bank of articles, downloads and tutorials. It has since been scaled back, but you can see snapshots from my time as Head of Content between 2021-2023 on the Wayback Machine.

One-off Projects
Throughout my time at Practical Publishing, and more recently as an independent publisher, I’ve worked on some fantastic one-off titles. In 2024, I launched a magazine focused on alternative fashion on Kickstarter, raising double the target revenue from pre-orders.
